Partnership Feature – 10th National Congress of SCAP

foodpanda Delivers Food and Fun to SCAP 2016

Officially launched in the Philippines last 2014, foodpanda can be considered as a young food delivery service brand. However, despite being new, it has become one of the most popular online and mobile services app that young people use today to have their food cravings solved — food being delivered to their preferred location fast! As a matter of fact, it is for this reason that foodpanda is now a leading food delivery brand in the Philippines — the pitch of having more than 1000 restaurants in the Philippines into an integrated mobile app and online food delivery system is innovative, and the youth is loving it!

With food delivery innovation and new technology as foodpanda’s main organizational pillars, the partnership direction was to tap institutions that advocates leadership and youth empowerment. Therefore, the 10th edition of the National Congress of the Student Council Alliance of the Philippines or SCAP that gathers allied student political parties and student councils in a venture to welcome new members, to reaffirm the organization’s guiding principles, to report the accomplishments of the previous leadership, and to elect the new leaders of the organization, is a relevant occasion.

Tapping hundreds of young and promising student-leaders from across the country that will converge this weekend (21-23 October 2016 at the Alabang campus of San Beda College) to pitch new ideas, work together to solve age-long problems and discuss issues ranging from gender equality to free tertiary education, this biennial meet matches foodpanda’s partnership commitment.

The 10th National Congress banners the theme: “Leading Change; Leaving a Legacy: 20 years of the Student Council Alliance of the Philippines” and will feature different training programs and workshops that aims to enhance the leadership skills, social awareness of student-leaders, and to ignite their passion in nation-building and proactive citizenship.

Last July, SCAP has mobilized more than 200 students across Metro Manila for its regional assembly. The keynote speaker was Senator Risa Hontiveros, where she spoke about the importance of reproductive health while Commission on Human Rights Chairperson Chito Gascon discussed the human rights situation in the Philippines. The 2016 National Congress will headline more expert speakers and recognizable names in politics and in civil society.
